Uganda’s U-20 side Hippos beat Buganda clan Olugave 2-0 in a friendly on Tuesday evening at Nakivubo stadium with goals from Robert Omunuk and an own goal from Imam Kinene. The purpose of the friendly was to shape the national side for the Africa Youth Championship qualifier with Ghana’s Satelites at the same venue on Saturday. They arrive in the country tomorrow ahead of their first leg encounter.
Coach Paul Nkata believes his players will finish the task from home and he hopes for goals. He included three new players on his team Geoffrey Kizito (a former Express player) and Uganda Revenue Authority pair in defender Sam Ssenkoomi and striker Erisa Sekisambu. The second leg is due the weekend of August 8-10 in the West African state. The winner over both legs will face Morocco or Gambia. The games will be played in Algeria early next year.
