Uganda Hippos and KCC FC left fullback Joseph Ocaya is set to complete a move to Ghana’s soccer giants Asante Kotoko.

The lanky defender caught the attention of the Ghanaian club following his impressive displays over two legs against Ghana’s Black Satellites in the Africa U20 Youth Championship qualifiers and has decided to sign him.

According Ghana’s sports website FootyGhana,

Kotoko have successfully convinced the Ugandan to join the club and was released by officials of the Ugandan delegation to fly from Accra for medical test in Kumasi.

Kawowo sports has come to learn that Ocaya arrived at the Kumasi Airport at about 16.45 GMT on Sunday and is set to undergo medicals at the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium clinic on Monday (Today) before signing for Kotoko.

Reliable sources from the Lugogo based club indicate that a fee of $30,000 (72 M) has been agreed on between the two sides. Joseph Ocaya has been impressive for the national under age teams and at KCC FC.

He also had a stint in Vietnam last year before returning to Lugogo to complete the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, the Hippos are set to return to the country on Wednesday after shock elimination from the youth qualifier after losing 3-0 to Ghana and bowing out on a 4-3 goal aggregate.

Ghana Black Satellites will now face Morocco in the final qualifying round to battle for a slot in Algeria 2013.
