The men’s Pilsner National pool League had quite enthralling games on Saturday at different venues. Table leaders Skin Samona continued to exhibit form as they defeated opponents Kyadalu 12-8 in the best of 20 games. Led by their captain Palouse Bisaso, the side have showed class ever since the league resumed. “We are not losing focus,” he said.

Titleholders Volts beat Q-Pool Academy 14-6. The tourney got a huge boost, following challenges that almost crippled the sport. A cash prize worth Shs.200,000,000 was handed to the Pool Association Of Uganda (PAU) to run the league for two years.

“This money will help motivate players and encourage younger teams to work hard and be able to join League one and the Super league respectively,” PAU head Farouk Kisuze said of the sponsorship that in the long run enable smooth running of the league.

In line with this, the Super League winning club will receive a trophy plus a Shs.2,000,000 cash prize. The League One winner will receive Shs.1,000,000, and the same will apply to the winning team for the Ladies’ League.
