PAKISTAN CRICKET LEAGUE
Even the few snags did not deter organizers (Pakistan Association Uganda) from having the tournament. They managed to have 19 six-over games of the first Pakistan Cricket League (PCL) edition played at Lugogo and Namboole stadium on Saturday and Sunday in turn.
And of the 12 participating sides, only three (Punjab XI, Yuasa and Zain Forex) maintained the 100% record over the weekend.
Forex, in the tape ball tournament opener on Saturday, defeated Multi Sports by five wickets before dispatching K-2 for eight wickets in the afternoon. They chased Jounda’s 70 runs to reach 72 for no loss on Sunday.
Punjab XI’s stringent fielding earned them 41, 33 and 78 run wins over Kichi Warriors, SWT and PAK Professionals respectively.
Yuasa set 96 runs for four enroute a 27-run victory over K-2, their first game on Saturday. They later bundled Jumbo Tigers for five wickets before their seven-wicket win over Champions on Sunday.
On short notice, the Sunday games were shifted from Makerere grounds to Namboole.
