Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) seed one Sula Matovu will compete against 127 other participants as he seeks to defend the Kampala Open Pool crown at Planet Sports Bar in Naalya today.
“I do not want to lose the crown. I have to be at my best,” Matovu, who was pitted in group D of the tournament, said. Only 32 ladies and ten foreigners from Kenyans are expected to take part in the Pepsi sponsored competition.
Winners in the men’s category will take home Shs1m while the women will take Shs500,000. “We expect stiff competition throughout the event,” Micheal Mawanda, the PAU spokesman said.
