MTN Heathens 37 Xfm Impis 6
Sadolin Mongers 19 Rhinos 13
G4S Pirates 51 Summerkamp 5

While many rugby fanatics back home spared time and thoughts for the Lady Cranes in North Africa, there were four games on card as this year’s Nile Special Uganda Cup got underway on Saturday.

Two-time defending champions DMark Kobs, national league titleholders MTN Heathens and G4S Pirates found their ways to the tourney’s semifinals.

Kobs walloped Toyota Buffaloes 39-7 at Kampala Rugby Club – also known as Kampala ground centre and vice-captain Andrew Barasa (2), Richard Lumu (2) Justin Kimono, Edmond Tumusiime and Simon Wakabi touching down.

Pirates mauled newly-promoted Summerkamp 51-5 with Kenyan national Lawrence Buyachi scoring a hat-trick of tries. Heathens beat Makerere Impis 37-6 whereas Sadolin Mongers edged out Rhino 19-13 in Entebbe.
