Coach Brian Tabaruka’s side MTN Heathens will

have a tough hurdle when they face off with G4S/AON Pirates in the semifinal of the Uganda Cup at Kampala Rugby club on Saturday.

Flanker Mathias Ochwo, halfbacks Brian Kikawa and Chris Lubanga, fullback Benon Kiiza and loose forward Scot Oluoch have struggled for fitness recently, something that could give Pirates a benefit of doubt.

Last year, it’s Pirates who knocked them out at this same stage in a gripping 22-16 result at this venue but Tabaruka said that rarely commit the same mistakes twice.

Alex Mubiru and wing Jonathan Onen will continue to serve their respective suspensions whereas Pirates have made it a habit to beef up their squad for this Cup.

In the other semifinal, two-time defending champions DMark Kobs take on Sadolin Mongers in other semifinal of this year’s to mirror the games at this stage for the last two seasons.

Coach Godwin Kangagwe saw Lawrence Buyachi, the Lions’ eighth man, the most prominent among the acquisitions; score a hattrick of tries in the 51-5 rout of newcomers Summerkamp.
