October, 31 games
Men: Nkumba v Nemo Stars
Women: Ndejje v KAVC
Seire B: Cubs v Mulago
The period granted for recuperation between the completion of the semifinals and start of the National Volleyball League finals was a point of concern for Ndejje’s prospect. There was only a two-day split before Ndejje’s best-of-five final series opener against KAVC. 3-2 (20-25, 23-25, 25-21, 27-24, 17-15). They rested on Monday before resumed training on Tuesday ahead of game one on Wednesday. KAVC had won their semifinal encounter against UCU Doves 2-0 convincingly.

Ndejje’s coach Johnson Kawenyera had earlier written off their chances after their semifinal encounter with KCCA went to the wire seven days ago in the best of three series. “We had written it off because the girls were fatigued and didn’t want to pressure their bodies for results,” Kawenyera said. “We kept on saying if we are moving on the same pace we can beat them,” he added.

The two sides will not meet again until October 31, something kawenyera believes would have given his side time to convalesce. “We are going to have enough time together, Game two should be easier for us if we are to win it,” said Kawenyera. KAVC are plotting a game plan that can see them pull the series level. “We are going to bounce back, the hunger is there for both of us but we will use our experience to ensure we come out on top,” KAVC’s Alice Gitta reckoned.
