British Coach Stewart Hall has parted ways with Kenya Premier League giants Sofapaka FC just two months after taking over at the club.
Hall had replaced sacked Ahmed Ali after a series of poor results in the KPL that saw the 2009 KPL Champions lose the grip in the title race for the 2012 season.
According to Daily Nation newspaper, Hall is back at Azam FC of Tanzania after the side offered him a lucrative deal that Sofapaka failed to match and both parties agreed to mutually get out of the contract.
“I have talked to the club president (Elly Kalekwa) about the offer that has been tabled before me and he has given me his blessing.
“I am not reneging on my contract; I will forgo one month’s salary,” Hall told the Daily Nation in an interview.
This was later confirmed by Kalekwa who confirmed that assistant Coach David Ouma will be in charge of the remaining two matches in the league and also take care of the FKF cup match against Tusker FC but insisted the club is on a scouting mission to land another tactician.
But I am already in the process of scouting around for another coach to replace Hall,” said Kalekwa.
“It is sad he is leaving after quite a short spell but we have to live with that. Azam has offered us no money for him; it is a gentleman’s agreement to let him go.”
Stewart Hall was fired from Azam after he allegedly fielded Taifa Stars winger Mrisho Ngassa against the wish of the board in the finals of Cecafa Club Championship this year. This was after the diminutive Ngassa had openly made it clear he was joining Simba SC.
Hall was replaced by Serbian Coach Boris Bunjak who was fired earlier this week due to poor results.
Under Hall, Sofapaka have won one game, lost two and drawn twice.
Stewart Hall remains the most successful Coach in the history of the five year old Vodacom Premier League club after leading it to the finals of Cecafa where they lost to Yanga.
Hall is most remembered in Uganda after he made a pre-season tour with Azam before the start of last season and had friendly games with SC Villa, KCC FC and URA FC.
Former SC Villa central defender Joseph Owino plays for the club which currently sits fourth on the Tanzanian Vodacom Premier League with 18 points
