Uganda remained hot on the heels of their rivals Kenya in the hotly contested East Africa golf challenge tournament that concludes today in Bujumbura,Burundi.

Abbey Bagalana and Robert Bukenya beat Tanzania 4-3 in the four-ball better-ball competition after their compatriots Willy Kitata and Peter Ssendawula lost to Davis Kashaka and Patrick Uwumukiza 3-4.

Kenya’s Nelson Simwa and Matthew Wahome beat Gideon Kagyenzi and Happy Robert 3-2 to increase their lead atop the leaderboard going into the final singles round of action at the nine hole course. Uganda’s skipper Philip Kasozi and Adolf Muhumuza beat Burundi 1-up.

Already Kitata, Bagalana and Bukenya are in the field for their final singles match-ups.
