Gor Mahia Vs Sofapaka – Nyao Stadium @ 1900hrs Live on SS9East

In what is the last match of Kenya’s soccer season, Ugandans Ivan Aguyo and Dan Sserunkuma are set for their last opportunity for silverware when their Gor Mahia FC side take on Sofapaka in the finals of the FKF Cup at Nyao Stadium.

Gor Mahia narrowly lost the KPL title to Tusker FC a fortnight ago after drawing 1-1 with Thika Utd to finish second on the log just a point behind the brewers and are expected to avoid similar mistakes if they are to win something this season.

Both Ugandans have been chosen by Coach Zdravko Logarusic in his starting line up despite fears that Sserunkuma who was stretchered off after three minutes into the semi-final win over Leopards was set to miss the tie.

It will be a repeat of last season’s finals which K’Ogalo edged 1-0 courtesy of Edwin Lavasta’s solitary goal. Lavasta has been named on the bench for the game.

Sofapaka were champions in 2007 and 2010.

Gor Mahia sealed the final place with a 2 – 1 win over arch rivals AFC Leopards while Sofapaka qualified after a 1 – 0 win over Tusker.
