Pool day (18th Jan 2013)
All roads will this Friday lead to the Oasis Lugogo Restaurant as the Pool Association of Uganda celebrates 10 years of registration with the National Council of Sports. The day long event will start with a march along the Kampala streets from the Constitutional Square to Lugogo.
“The Pool Association of Uganda is glad to celebrate 10 years as an independent group and there is every single reason to merry make”, said Michael Mawanda, the Association Publicity secretary in an exclusive interview with Kawowo sports.
State Sports Minister, Charles Bakkabulindi is expected to be the chief guest. Several registered pool clubs across the country have been invited in addition to the representatives from other sporting associations in Uganda.
At the Friday event, there will be review of all the activities of the Pool Association of Uganda where the challenges and achievements in the 10 years’ reign will be assessed as well as the strategies for the next decade. On the same occasion, the Pool Association of Uganda logo will be officially unveiled and the first ever pool publication tagged, ‘PAU AT 10 YEARS’ will be launched.
Many partners including Nile Breweries, East African Breweries, Eye Care Center, K.K Electronics, Crown Beverages, Samona Skin Care Products, and Supreme Council Building are sponsoring the event that will climax with speeches, an awards giving ceremony, a glamorous dinner and ultimate entertainment till dawn .
