Seven FUFA Big league fixtures were played over the weekend as the second round of Uganda’s second ranked tier football league officially kicked off at the different stadia across the country.

Whereas, former Super Division side, CRO were the biggest  winners in their 5-0 home whipping of Kasese Youth, there were three games that produced goalless stalements. FUFA Official, Decolas Kiiza, the secretarty competitions committee in an interview with Kawowo Sports expressed his appreciation to all the participating clubs and bid success to the best performers. “I wish the best three teams luck to qualify for the FUFA Super League”, Kiiza said.

Rwenzori group log leaders,  Bright Stars, a Kawempe based outfit, edged Koboko 1-0 in a fast paced game played at Kawanda Research Insititute grounds to open up a 4 point lead over  second placed Soana. Forner Uganda Cranes and KCC Veteran Willy Kyambadde, who is arguably one of the finest left footed midfielders on Uganda’s football scene, scored the solitary strike off a superb free kick. Soana’s Dan Wagaluka, a mid-season record signing was given a rousing welcome  to the dreaded Ssaza grounds in Iganga Town as the two teams played to a scoreless draw. Wagaluka, who started his football career at Iganga Town Council, recently bagged a 15M sign on fee for free spending Soana, on  6 month loan deal from Rwanda’s APR.

On a Teso Derby day, Soroti Garage confirmed their supremacy over debutants Ngora Freda Carr with a 2-1 win to established a 7 point gap on top of Elgon group. Action resumes this week on Thursday with various games on the card.
