G4s Pirates 16-24 MTN Heathens
It may have been the game to watch with great enthusiasm from the Heathen fans thinking they would always wallop all clubs but it was all in vain as the Pirates back line seemed to be very difficult to be broken down.
This was one of the toughest games the Heathens have encountered this season as their trade mark of 60 plus couldn’t be manifested and they almost saw a win slip off their hands as they had a very poor run on the Pirates.
The Heathen faithful automatically had to give Philip wokorach credit for the work well executed on the awful evening as he accumulated 16 points for the never dying Heathens though they felt the wrath of the Pirates. Denis Mulo also had a try and a well executed conversion from Jasper Ochan to give the Heathens at 24 point win.
Though Pirates conceded a painful loss to the Heathens they will walk with their heads high as they managed to break the strongest back line currently in the league as they managed to get two tries from Marvin Odong and Denis Etuket respectively and two penalties from Joel Aguyo who looked brilliant in taking them as the master in Anthony Kinene failed to convert a couple of the penalties that they had won on the night.
Therefore Heathens are already through to the semi finals with only a few games remaining on card for them and currently lead the table standing with 29 points, Kobs at 23, Buffaloes are third at 19 points followed by G4S Pirates with 16 points.
As the format of the semi finals will be 1st tussles out with 4th and 2nd tussled out with 3rd.
