Tornado B had won six in a row before they fell to a two-wicket defeat to titleholders Tornado last weekend.
That loss confirmed the latter progressed to the quarterfinals of the National T20 League unscathed atop Group A with maxmum points – 40 from eight games.
Tornado B have already confirmed second spot (30) but are left with one game against JICC at the university oval in Kyambogo on Sunday afternoon as the preliminary round comes to an end.
“We lost but it showed what character we have in our side,” Tornado B skipper Jeremy Kibuukamusoke told Kawowo Sports after last Sunday’s loss.
“Tornado has always been limiting teams to low scores and we were the first to score 100 plus runs against them,”
Tornado B set 107-9 before a mighty six from Frank Nsubuga on the last delivery at 19.1 gave Tornado the upper hand to finish 108-8.
“Coming against JICC, there is nothing we are taking for granted. We shall still give our best and aim for the win.” Kibuukamusoke added.
JICC first play Makerere in Budo.
In Group B, there is a possibility that leaders Nile (40) can be dislodged any of the other top three sides.
And second-placed Charity Trust Fund (35) will go top on better Net Run Rate if they beat Kutchi Tigers at Lugogo Oval.
Tigers, with 30 points, lie third but also have a chance to finish at the summit if they win both games including fourth-placed Wanderers (30) in the afternoon.
Wanderers too can follow suit should they also beat SKPLS.
