Ever since senior men’s national team skipper Davis Karashani got to know of the ICC Pepsi World Cricket League Division III fixture schedule, it has not kept off his mind.

“Its such a big tournament that no one is looking up to make numbers there,” he told Kawowo Sports of the event later this month in Bermuda.

Chances of Uganda finishing top face a serious reality check as they will open up their campaign against the hosts at the National Sports Stadium in the east of the capital, Hamilton on April 28.

“Everyone wants to win the first game of a tournament,” the 24-year-old said. “But its a big game. Playing against the hosts is a tough task irrespective of where you are,”

Karashani and teammates will play Nepal the next morning at Somerset oval, take a rest on April 30 before facing Italy in Hamilton the next day.

Uganda plays USA at St. David’s on May 2 before another rest day ahead of the last round robin game against Oman at Somerset.

Coach Martin Suji’s boys is guaranteed promotion to Division Two and a slot the 2014 ICC World Cup Qualifiers where two teams can qualify for the World Cup in 2015 if they finish among the top two.
