For the kick boxing fans, all roads lead to Kyadondo Rugby grounds where self proclaimed Uganda’s number one kick boxer Moses Golola take on Hungarian Betyar Istavan in a non title fight on Friday night.
There is no denying the fact that kick boxing in Uganda is synonymous with Golola as he promoted the sport from unknown to known with his big talking antics.
However, he has disappointed Ugandans in his last two fights against Hungarians Andras Nagy and Mate Szamboki to the extent that many have written him off.
Many feel that Golola is just a joker who speaks more than he offers in the ring and its perhaps the reason he has preferred to change a little a bit this time as exhibited at the pre-fight conference at Hotel Africa on Thursday.
“I have trained well and feel ready not to disappoint my fans”, he said. “I pray to God so that everything goes according to plan”.
Nevertheless, the real Golola couldn’t hide himself as he claimed that this time he has offered to eat cement instead of porridge.
“My punch this time is very concrete since I have eaten cement instead of porridge this time and the Hungarian will feel it”, he joked.
For sure, this is time to prove all his doubters and people who have written him off wrong by putting up a decent performance against a man (Istavan) who comes from the same country as the two men who tormented him in front of Ugandans last year.
