The 2013 Kagame Cup will be held in Sudan from June 18 to July 2, the Council for East and Central African Football Association (Cecafa) has announced.

Cecafa awarded Sudan the rights to host the Kagame Club Championships in June after Ethiopia, the initial host designate, wanted it to be held in September.

“Kindly note that we are finalising arrangements to stage the above tournament in Sudan from June”.

“Because of logistical reasons, we would like to get confirmation that you will be available for the whole duration of the competition. We need this confirmation as soon as possible,” reads a statement from Cecafa to all member states.

The championship is an annual competition for various league champions from the Cecafa region. 2011/12 Uganda Super League champions Express FC are thus mandated to represent Uganda at this year’s competition.

Tanzanian side Young Africans are the defending champions.
