It was all smiles for Josh Wilson, a full time pool table attendant at Leisure Tec Entertainment center, right in the heart of the Ugandan Capital City of Kampala, along Namirembe road.

Josh defied every odd to qualify for the grand finale of the prestigious Nile Special Open Pool championships that will be held on 3 st August at Lugogo Indoor Stadium after displaying character and Composure..

En-route his winning heroics that saw him pocket 100,000 instantly and a great certificate from the sponsors, Nile Breweries, Josh over came a determined Muhammed Luutu with a 4-2 triumph at Club Leisure Tec.

“Am happy to make it to the finals”, said Josh after the victory. Josh will be joined by 127 more competitors who will vie for the coveted grand prize of a brand new pool table, Toyota Progress car and 2 Millions.

At Club Lumas, which is just a stone throw away from Lesiure Tec, Francis Kizza defeated crowd favorite, Musa Ssebi, 4-2 for duo to qualify for the finals.

Two players will qualify for the final from each of the 60 playing centers. These will be joined by the eight seeded players bringing the the total number of players at the grand finale to 128. Approximately 2500 players are expected to take part in this nationwide tournament.

Action resumes on Saturday, 8th June at Club Indigo opposite the old taxi park and Shade Bar (William Street) before going to the East next weekend in the districts of Jinja (May Fair), Kamuli (Texas Club), Iganga (Shivans High way Pub), Busia (Capital Pub), Tororo (Venes Resort), Soroti (Crystal Gardens), Mbale (Sports Club) and Malaba (Espana Pub).
