URA FC 1-0 Al Hilal Kadougli

New recruit James Kasibante netted on his debut to help former Ugandan Champions URA FC to a 1-0 win over home side Al Hilal Kadougli in the 2013 Kagame Cup opening match. The former Entebbe FC midfielder scored the only goal of the game in the 92nd minute to ensure the tax collectors bright start to the tournament held in Darfur, Sudan.

URA FC earned the invitation to the competition following the withdraw of Champions Yanga FC, 2012 beaten finalists Simba SC and Kenya Premier League winners Tusker FC citing insecurity in the hosting cities of Darfur and Kholdofan.

Alongside 2011/12 Uganda Super League winners Express FC, they are the representatives from Uganda while Kenya and Tanzania are not represented.

Action at the tournament resumes tomorrow (Wednesday) with Elman of Ethiopia taking on Rwanda’s APR while Burundi’s Vital O takes on Joseph Kabagambe’s El Merrick Fasher.
