Like it has been all season, Tornado B displayed another clinical performance to defeat bottom side SKLPS by 224 runs in the Multiple Industries Division One Cricket League match played on Sunday.

The easy win at the university oval in Kyambogo pushed the leaders to 35 points atop the log and they are yet to flounder in six games with a game left to complete the first round.

“All the systems are doing well and the machine is delivering results for us,” Tornado B opener Nicholas Kebba told Kawowo Sports as his side toasted to the win at Lugogo Tennis Club later in the evening.

Kebba hit a half-ton of 53 runs in a first-wicket stand of 110 runs with former national team skipper Akbar Baig (44) as the pair laid a firm foundation to their innnings.

Captain Jeremy Kibuukamusoke (29*), brothers Roger Mukasa (41) and Lawrence Ssematimba (44) and siblings pair of Fred Isabirye (44) and Charles Waiswa (19) all showed composure as they set 302-6 reaching the league’s biggest score so far.

John Mpande took a six-wicket haul and Waiswa picked four wickets as they bowled out SKLPS for a paltry 78 runs in 18.4 overs.

At the lakeside oval in Entebbe, champions Tornado took a 72-run win over Rounders to move two slots above to third with 18 points.

On a seam wicket, they recovered from 17-5 slump with a 100-run partnership between Richard Okia and skipper Fank Nsubuga before setting a defendable 187 score.

Nsubuga and Assadu Seiga picked three wickets apiece; Deus Muhumuza took two wickets as Rounders’ innings folded with 115 runs.

“We batted poorly,” Rounders captain Amos Kyazze said after losing their third game.
