27th July 2013: CHAN Qualifier 2nd Leg: Uganda Vs Tanzania (4:00pm), Nelson Mandela Stadium, Kampala.

Uganda Cranes Head Coach, Milutin Sedrojevic has made quite fresh surprising decisions to the team preparing to play Tanzania in the scheduled return leg of the Championships of African Nations (CHAN) qualifier on 27th July 2013 at Namboole Stadium in Kampala.

Milutin, nick named ‘Micho’ has named two playmakers Augustine Nsumba and Willy Kavuma, left back Habibu Kavuma, goalie Ismail Watenga, two attack minded midfielders in Azizi Kemba and William Wadri, two forward players Simon Okwi and David Kasirye, and a central defender, Hashim Ssempala to the team that regroups Wednesday morning at Namboole.

Kemba, who plies his trade with Jinja based Bul-Bidco, URA’S David Kasirye, KCC’s Simon Okwi, Vipers’  goal keeper, Ismail Watenga and Hashim Ssempala do not have any senior cap for the National team. Okwi, Kemba, Kasirye and Ssempala were part of the U-23 team that played a friendly game with the Cranes last week before the team left for Dar es salaam. The junior team put up a gallant display in a match they lost 3-1.

Uganda Revenue Authority’s creative midfielder, Augustine Nsumba has returned to the Cranes fold since 2006. “I use committed and hard working players. These young players will provide a basis for the 2015 AFCON team”, Micho explained of his choice of players.

The Uganda Cranes carry a 1-0 aggregate lead following Dennis Iguma’s solitary strike on 48 minutes that won the game in Dar es salaam during the first leg.

The training for the return leg resumes Wednesday with double non residential sessions up to Sunday before the team enters into a residential camp at Sky Hotel, Ntinda. There is a planned friendly game for the team on Friday.

Apart from strikers, Patrick Edema (off to Portugal for trials) and Tonny Odur (out with a groin injury from the Tanzanian game), the rest of the players who traveled to Dar es salaam have been retained.
