An 80th minute twisted tap-in by Kasimu Kizito was enough for Mivule primary school to beat resilient Kisubi Boys primary school and claim champions of Kisubi subzone 8 football tourney. Their historical championship should be credited to their custodian, Kaweesa Noordeen, for his first half threesome brilliant saves and double saves the shot stopper made deep in the dying minutes of the entirely cheered game played at Kisubi seminary main sports ground on Friday 19th July.
Shortly after FUFA grade one referee Mutyaba Herbert blew the final whistle, Kawowo sports talked to Mivule head coach, Kintu Steven, and the soft spoken tactician claimed not be like the bourbon monarch of France who learnt and forgot nothing, Kintu said that after losing to the same opponents in the group stages, he capitalized on their initial mistakes for the final win.
“Yes, I knew about this win earlier alone because I have never lost to any team back-to-back in my career. “I based on their central defensive mistakes for the win, that’s why you see my sole goal came from a defensive error”. A visibly joyful Kintu who will further coach an-18 man selected team at Zone level next week told Kawowo sports. But his counterpart, Coach Bobby Elly, alleged unluckiness of his team led his side down on the night.
In netball, a difference of one goal gave St Donozio p/s titleholders of this year ahead of Mivule who had 6 points apiece. The duo teams’ players dominated the 10 selected netballers who will represent the sub-zone on the zone level games scheduled to be held at the same venue early next week.
