Two first half goals from Harambee Stars strikers Ramah Salim and Paul Kiongera was all Gor Mahia FC needed to overcome Western Stima to maintain leadership of the 2013 Kenya Tusker Premier League log. Salim opened the scoring on the 10th minute mark before Kiongera added a second in the 36th minute which lead they held on till the final whistle.

The win which extended K’Ogalo’s tally to 32 points from 16 games was ex-Cranes Coach Bobby Williamson’s second consecutive victory since taking over the helms at the club.

Cranes defender Israel Emuge played the entire game while Ugandan Ivan Anguyo was a second half substitute. Cranes striker Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma was not named in the match day squad.

In other games, Champions Tusker FC were shocked with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of visiting Muhoroni Youth FC. Kennedy Oduor and Ezekiel Otuoma Wagongo netted for the visitors while Ismail Salim scored the brewers consolation. Uganda’s U-20 international Aucho Khalid featured for Tusker while Martin Kizza was an un used substitute. Midfielder Robert Omunuk was not part of the squad.

Tusker remains 9th on the table while Muhoroni currently sits 14th log.

At Mumias Sports Complex, Dan Wagaluka made a winning debut as AFC Leopards beat on form Mathare United 2-0 to go fifth. Jonas Nahimana and Martin Imbalabala got the goals for Ingwe. Wagaluka was a late second half substitute.

In other weekend games, Johnson Bagoole’s Sofapaka beat Bandari FC 3-2 while KCB held Thika United to a barren draw. The same scoreline was registered between Karuturi Sports and Sony Sugars plus Kakamega and City Stars
