Deusi Ssebiror clocked 30:55:03 to win the 2013 Entebbe Save the planet 10 KM race on Sunday. Lands and Housing Minister, Daudi Migereko ,flanked by Entebbe mayor Paul Kayanja De Paul and other Entebbe Municipal officials officiated at the official flagging off of this annual race. Ssebiror, 22, won himself a return air ticket to Kilimanjaro courtesy of Air Uganda.
“I am very happy for having landed this offer”, said the winner shortly after the main race, that also included a 5 KM walking race around Entebbe Municipality.
Minister Daudi Migereko lauded the organizers of the race (Afro Links International) for having mobilized over 500 people who participated in the event.
Vikman Proscovia, the event organizer hailed the individual participants and companies for the high spirit exhibited in the name of charity. “Please thank you all, the fourth edition is around the corner, keep fit for charity work”, Vikman urged.
Evlyne Kayizza won the women’s version. She was rewarded a K-Gas banner Unit .Other winners were Vivian Nazziwa (5KM Walking Race) and Ruth Nabbasa (Students).
