Kenya Tusker Premier League club Sofapaka raked in millions of money from sale of Zimbabwean striker Obadiah Tarumbwa to South Africa Premiership side Pretoria University.

According to Goal.com, Sofapaka chairman Elly Kalekwa said the club will be earn $ 130,000 (Ugx 335,400,000) which will be paid in three installments of $50,000 (Ugx 129,000, 000), $50,000 (Ugx 129,000, 000) and $30,000 (Ugx 77,400,000) with the first coming next week.

“The last installment will come in June next year and we are also entitled to ten percent of whatever amount the club gets if they sell him elsewhere,” said Kalekwa.

He said they are happy with the deal which has enabled them make a tidy profit from what they bought the Zimbabwean with.

“By all accounts it was a good deal for us and we are happy because we made a tidy profit on the sale. His club is also happy and we are confident he will do well in future,” added Kalekwa.

Tarumbwa signed for Sofapaka at the beginning of this season but left just after six months.

Tarumbwa has signed on a three-year-deal after doing enough to convince AmaTuks that he is worthy of being handed a deal in the days that he has been training with the club.

The Bulawayo born striker has also played for Belgian club Cercle Brugge but is originally from his hometown club Highlanders.
