Riham Warriors Vs Ndejje Angels 7:00pm (YMCA)
The defending champions, Riham Warriors are surging. That is not good news for Ndejje University Angels who stand in their way as the Airtel National Basketball League first round curtains fall.
The Warriors have won the last three games including a relentless win over Dmark Power last Friday and scoring atleast 66 points in the games. Ndejje meanwhile have won two of the last three and are a competitive team that has thrived under the low profile.
To avoid a skid, Angels (7-3) will have to find a way to contain Henry Malinga (who has averaged 19.3 points in the last three games) for the entire game. Ronnie Kasewu is getting back just in time after a rough start to the season due to injuries. The guard has averaged 16.5 in the last couple of games and Ivan Enabu 15 points for Warriors (8-2).
Steven Okias who joined Ndejje from Warriors a few weeks into the season has added more than experience to the university side. His contribution on the floor can’t be over looked as he has averaged 14.3 points in the last three games and may naturally be fired up for the game.
Of the many who welcomed the new look Angels, nobody did as much Geoffrey Soro. Even when the forward does not play necessarily well, Ndejje find ways to win games as the offensive burden is shared quite well. For tonight’s match-up however he will have to turn in one of those good games before he looks up to Brian Odur, Jonah Otim and the rest of the teammates.
