KIU Rangers 42-51 Magc Stormers
Dmark Power 84-55 Galaxy Falcons
It was easy to see why the Dmark Power were glad to have Ben Komakech back in the lineup after losing two of their previous three games.
The point guard scored 14 of his game high 23 points in the first quarter as Power assumed control of the game for an 84-55 run way victory over Galaxy Falcons on Friday night at YMCA.
Falcons (67-6) had a night characterised by lack of competitiveness and were done in the early by their failure to defend let alone scoring, inability to move the ball and the slippery hands.
Joseph Ikong had 14 points and Isaac Afidra added a double-double (11 points & 11 boards) for Power (12-2)
Last year’s most supportive player, Steven Tumwesigye paced Falcons with season high 21 points and 14 rebounds off the bench. Abdulahi Ramadhani chipped in with 12 points and set up Philip Ameny for the highlight of the night – a hammer down – that gave the quiet crowd a rise.
Meanwhile in the women’s game, Magic Stormers came from down to beat KIU Rangers 51-42. Center, Carol Nyafwono scored game high 21 points and picked 10 rebounds to lead the way for Stormers (9-6) and Aisha Kamana added 14 points.
Judith Nansobya and Florence Nanyonga paced Rangers (8-5) with 13 and 12 points respectively.
