City Oilers are headed to the playoffs in their debut season of the airtel National Basketball League. Thanks in part to Kami Kabange and Jimmy Enabu.
Falcons have one of the best rosters in the league and may be headed back to the post season but have not looked like contenders having dropped 8 of the 15 games and most recently to Vegetarian at nearly full strength.
At this point not even ardent Falcons’ fans expect much going into the second round match-up with City Oilers on Friday night at YMCA, a side they lost to 75-65 back in May.
Oilers (12-4) have lost just one game in the second (to UCU) averaging 77.6 points while conceding 60.4 points. Falcons meanwhile have dropped the last three games wining just one in the second round.
In the women’s division, KIU Rangers will be up against Magic Stormers. Stormers have beaten Rangers on the two occasions the sides have met this season. While Stormers are nearly assured of a third successive playoff appearance, KIU are looking to peep A1 Challenge for a post season appearance.
