The 7th National Motocross Mountain Dew Championships has been officially launched on Monday (14th October 2013) at the Speedway Quick fix offices (along Rubaga road) in Kampala.
“Due to Public demand, Africa’s number one free style rider, Nick De Wit will be back and he will grace the Busika sky lines once again.”, Brian Tumusiime, an organizing official said at the launch before a packed house of reporters.
The 7th round of the national championships will see various riders like Yasin Bukala, Jesse Kamstra, Talha Kiggundu, Fathu Kiggundu, Tamale Ahmed (MX2), Alestair Blick, Ali Omar (MX 85 CC), Wazir Omar, Fortune Ssentamu and Paddy Blick (MX 65 CC) and Waleed Omar and Ben Nsumba (50 CC), all on the Uganda National motocross team tussling it out in the 6 respective classes to earn competition points that will go a long way in securing podium positions.
The Busika venue will provide a training base for riders who are set to take part in the CAC 3 race on 10th November 2013 at the Jamhuri Park in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.
At the 6th national motocross championships, there were guest riders from Germany, Stefan Bengs (freestyler) and Kai Sedlak (racer) who joined the many local racers to give the fans a great day out.
Masaka based Yasin Bukala a.k.a ‘Munamasaka’ , who was in scintillating form at the 4th Mountain Dew Motorcross championships held in Lubiri will race in the main MX 1 meet, though he is expected to meet a challenge from Arthur Blick Jr, Jesse Kamstra and Hood Ssemugooma.
The Championships is proudly sponsored by Crown Beverages under the Mountain Dew brand, Oil giants, Total Uganda, IAA HealthCare/ Resolution Health, UAP Insurance, Safe Insurance and Fotogenix.
Entrance to the Sunday 20th October 2013 Busika event will be come forth will a free mountain dew soda at 10.000/= for the general public and 25.000/= for VIP fans.
