Arthur Blick, Captain Motocross team Uganda is confident they will standout to the weekend Motocross challenge set to take place at Jamuhuri Park in Nairobi, Kenya.
For the first time, Uganda will field the biggest number of riders, a trick Kenya has always used to upstage its opponents. However, Blick admits that Uganda could have done better, had they not been limited by financial constraints.
“We would have loved to take the full team of over 30 riders, but due to minimum sponsorship we got, we are only able to take 20 riders,” he told Kawowo Sports.
Strong riders from both the junior and senior category have been selected to participate in this event, based on the training they have had for the last couple of months. Maxim Van Pee and Olivier Van Pee are expected to have arrived in Nairobi yesterday, from the UK ahead of this edition.
Defending champions of this East Africa Motocross challenge, Uganda, are still in second place with approximately 1881 points while rivals, Kenya lead with 2035 points.
