2012 Olympics gold medalist, Stephen Kiprotich will grace the 1st edition of the Kampala Kids Run race set on 15 of December 2013 at Kati-kati.
According to the event’s promoter, Muslim Kiwanuka, the event will attract a wide section of the society and will take off at exactly 6:30am. “This race will catch the attention of many Ugandans and among them will see Stephen Kiprotich, corporate companies, NGOs among others”. Kiwanuka told Kawowo Sports. “It will be launched on 29th of November at Serena Hotel at 8am”. He added.
The race that is organized by the Kampala Kids Run in conjunction Uganda Athletics Federation is aimed at bringing a smile to the floods’ affected kids of Kasese district.
Registration is taking place at all Uchumi supermarkets at Ugx 10,000 per kid.
The overall wining boy and girl will get return tickets to Dar-es-Salaam together with their respective parents or guardians. Other presentable awards await the runners up curtsey of sponsors like Air Uganda, NTV Uganda, Pepsi, Uchumi and Hema. Other sponsors include AAR, Serena hotel, Capital radio, Red Cross, IHK Healthy Services and Zuku tv.
Zuku tv will decorate the first 50 runners with a decoder each with free subscription fees ranging from 3 months to a full year. Face painting, egg hunting free sodas among other activities will take at the event. Spider man will also be available.
