AFRICAN UNIVERSITY CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS – 1 DECEMBER 2013
The inaugural African University Cross-Country Championships will take place in Entebbe (Uganda) on Sunday 1 December 2013. Close to 40 universities will take part.
“I am very pleased to learn that there will be a magazine distribution on Sunday. Our university runners will learn a great deal from reading Athletics Weekly, a globally-famous magazine. This will motivate them to redouble their running efforts.”, Patrick Ssebuliba, General Secretary, National University Sports Federation of Uganda, said.
Kevin and Sue O’Connor are pleased to announce that several hundred copies of the prestigious, glossy, coloured magazine Athletics Weekly, which have been airmailed to Uganda by British and Irish readers, will be available for free distribution to runners.
The World-famous Athletics Weekly publicises itself as, “THE NUMBER.1 MAGAZINE FOR RUNNERS AND ATHLETES”. It normally costs around Ugx 12,000 plus overseas postage.
“All our previous magazine distributions have been to Ugandan athletes,” observed Kevin. “This will be the first one with a multinational flavour. I understand that in addition to Uganda, 8 other countries have confirmed their participation. They are: Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Africa, DR Congo, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Ethiopia. It is hoped that some other countries will confirm in the next few days.”.
