For officially known and accepted global reasons, the Nile Special Rugby league took a 14 day break since Mid December. This was to give the players and team officials that much needed breather off the usually busy and tough action schedule.

Perhaps, many clubs and players alike never utilized the break. Many stayed in the gyms, others were still struggling for endurance on the hilly roads whereas majority of the players welcomed the festive break to feast and drink lavishly.

By the close of Business on Saturday, it will be evident who did what and when as the final results from the 3 venues of the 4 games on card will be fast filtering in.

As the season witnessed the break off of the league in mid-December, D’Mark Kobs were top of the league standings having won all their seven games of the league. When the league resumes this Saturday, The Legends Club based side will play the first of the two games at the same venue with a date against the Mutoni Warriors.

The second game at Legends club will see G4S Pirates entertain Ezee Money Rhinos in a battle expected to be a thriller of sorts.

In the Lake side town of Entebbe, the MTN Heathens, who had an incredible 2013 (winning the 2012/13 league, 7’s and Uganda Cup), will make that trip to play the unpredictable Entebbe Mongers at the dreaded house of pain Entebbe Secondary school grounds.

No one team in the league has ever visited the ”House of Pain” without any worries. First the playing ground is as hard as a rock and when it rains, the ground resembles a swamp. The home team itself (The Mongers) play a very rigid style of rugby and the fish mongers as they are fondly termed will get the bruises off their bodies in the name of securing great results.

Inspired by national team players, Ronald Adigas, Andrew Olwenyi and the ever sweet kicking foot of Wasswa Adrian, the boggy side makes a hell of life for opponents.

“We are traveling down there for  nothing else but victory though i believe, it will be a hard fought one”, Michael Wokorach, one of Heathens’ fortunate players to have ‘tested’ the ground more often during his university rugby days with Nkumba University.

Elsewhere, winless Lira Bulls make the long trip to Kampala Kyadondo grounds to face a very resilient Toyota Buffaloes side. Unless another miraculous eclipse happens up the skylines in Kampala on Saturday, Lira Bulls are going to be taught another though Rugby lesson at Kyadondo.

As Usual, Kawowo Sports will keep the live updates from all the venues and matches flowing like River Nile.
