Tanzania’s top lady golfer and winner of last year’s Uganda Ladies Open Angel Eaton has flown to South Africa to under-go a surgery on her back that has been bothering her since last year.
“I will be flying to South Africa too have a back surgery thanks to all the well wishers and those that have paid for my treatment,” Eaton told the Daily Newspaper of Tanzania on phone. “I have been playing with this problem since last year.”
The soft spoken golfer is expected to be in South Africa for two weeks however she is not sure how long she will need to rest before returning to the course. Last year Eaton visited a doctor who said that she had a serious back problem that needed to be massaged every time she played a rigorous round of golf.
Last year Eaton was in blistering form winning the Kenya Ladies Coast Open, Morogoro Ladies Open, Zimbabwe Ladies Open and successfully retained her Uganda Ladies Open for a second year running.
The ace golfer believes she sustained the back problem due to carry her bag after a long round of golf practice and also at tournament’s however she said she will take the risk of continuing to play golf even if advised to slow down.
