The Nile Special Rugby Premier League resumes this Saturday with 4 week 12 fixtures on card.
For starters, the surprise package of the teams has been G4S Pirates who face Lira Bulls in Kampala on Saturday.
As you read this piece, the former giant killers are languishing in the 7th place, just a place better than the Lira Bulls, who have had a dissmissal display all season long with no single victory under their belt.
Lira Bulls have been the whipping lads in the 8 team league that will be reduced to 6 by the end of the season. After bowing out 151 – 0 to Kobs at Legends last week, the Bulls lie at the bottom of the Nile Special rugby league with no points from 11 games.
They have conceeded 864 points and scored only 59 while Pirates, fresh from a moorale boasting and ill tempered 26 – 13 viictory over the Toyota Buffaloes last weekend, will not hope for anyother slip up this season, lest they are doomed for the lower tier rugby league.
One other team that can never think of a possible slip up is D’Mark Kobs, who will be facing the Ezee Money Rhinos at Legends Rugby Club in Kampala.
The Kobs, run away league leaders, currently on 44 points after 11 outings, 8 points adrift of the 2013 league winners, MTN Heathens, enjoy a rich vein of form with just 3 more weekends of rugby before the play -offs set in.
The Mongers who drew 19 all with the Rhinos in a rare rugby stalemate last weekend wiil play at home against the Mutoni Warriors at the house of pain stadium in Entebbe Stadium while MTN Heathens entertains Buffaloes at the Kyadondo Rugby grounds.
“We shall keep the fight on like we did against Rhinos in Kampala last weekend afterall we are at the house of pain and you know what it means in Entebbe”, Andrew Olwenyi, the 2012 Uganda Rugby Union player of the year attested to Kawowo Sports on Friday morning.
The league is proudly organized by Uganda Rugby Union and sponsored by Nile Breweries Limited.
