Fri, 7th Feb 2014: URA Vs Masaka L.C – At Lugazi
Uganda’s top-flight football league resumes this Friday with several games on the menu. Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) plays host to Masaka Local Council in a fixture the latter anticipate to stage a fair challenge amidst the struggles at the club. “We hope for the better. It is an away game but football is football, expect any result”, Abu Kigenyi, Masaka’s coach revealed to Kawowo Sports.
In another fixture, 13 time record champions, Sports Club Villa face a home encounter against Soana at Nakivubo Stadium.
The Jogoos, currently coached by Steven Bogere lost defender, Godfrey Walusimbi to Kenyan side, Gor Mahia and strikers, Emmanuel Okwi (to Yanga) and Yudah Mugalu. Bogere is however optimistic his charges beefed up with Big league recruits, David Bagoole, Arthur Mukisa and Nigerian Emmanuel Emanayo (all from Baza Holdings) will measure up to the task.
“We shall use the available players in our ranks”, Bogere spoke to Kawowo Sports ahead of the fixture.
In the other fixtures, Uganda cranes king pin defender, Richard Kassaga will captain Kira Young away to CRO while Mathia Lule will start his new lease of life as Entebbe F.C head coach with that Wankulukuku fixture against Kefa Kisala’s Bul F.C.
Bul welcomes back Iceland left footed winger, Aziz Kemba after a 3 match stint.
Vipers will host Proline, who have lost Denis Makoba and Isma Kabugu whereas the Bombo Army Stadium will see home side Simba entertain Livingstone Mbabazi’s Bright Stars.
