G4S Pirates Captain Eric Butime is confident his team will finish in 5th place at the end of the 2013/2014 rugby season this weekend. This will only be if they can beat Sadolin Mongers at Legends Rugby Grounds, following Uganda Rugby Union’s introduction of a play off between leagues’ 6th and 7th to decide who gets relegated alongside the 8th placed Lira Bulls.

Finishing 5th in the Nile Special Rugby Premiership will see the 2007 Uganda cup champions (Pirates) avoid the dreaded prospect of the relegation play-off with Mutoni Warriors who are currently stranded at the foot of the league table in 7th position.

“We’ve heard there is a play-off for the sixth place and we want to avoid that,” Butime told NTV’s ruck’n’roll magazine programme. “We want to finish 5th so that we can just rest after the season.” “So, that means we have to beat Sadolin Mongers with a bonus point.”

“They have a very good team, they beat heathens away, they’ve had a stellar season, so its going to be very tough.” “They have a good defense, but we trust our big boys and with our pack, we hope to push over and get the 5 points hopefully.” Narrated the captain.

G4S Pirates have lost 8 and won 5 against Toyota Buffaloes, Mutoni Warriors(twice) and Lira Bulls(twice) this season.

Sadolin Mongers have lost 7 matches this season, winning 5, drawing once 19-19, against Ezee Money Rhinos.

The Duo last met each other in week 7 of this season’s first round, an encounter Sadolin Mongers won 27-08.
