Ahead of the much billed Mbarara Rally, clerk of the course David Nsobya has revealed that scrutineering of machines is on this Friday 28 at Shell Buddu, Masaka.
The exercise which kick starts the National Rally Championship (NRC) calendar will be conducted by head of safety at Hajji Hamid Gombe.
This will be followed by a Super Special Stage at Misaali on Saturday March 1 and head for competitive sections in Western Uganda on Sunday March 2.
The 366.4km rally with a 167.1km competitive stretch will have five sections. The longest stretch will be 82km from Kyamugulanyi to Rushozi and the shortest will be 14.4km from Kanyenyeru to Biharwe.
27 crews are expected to participate in the event with big names such as Ronald Sebuguzi, Shafik Semujju, Dr. Ashraf Ahmed, Jonas Kansiime and Omar Mayanja all ready to kick start the season in high gear.
Last year’s NRC winner Jas Mangat plus former champions Susan Muwonge and Ponsiano Lwakataka are the notable absentees from this event.
