Zambia national soccer team coach Patrice Beaumelle believes Nkana Red Devils will beat KCCA this Saturday March 1 in the two sides’ CAF Champions League first round, first leg clash at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

The Times of Zambia reports that Beaumelle tips the home side ahead of the visitors since they are at home with a 12th man (fans) and they have enough quality in their squad. “I don’t like to predict any scores but I think Nkana has a huge home advantage because they have a lot of fans,” Beaumelle said. “As for the team, they know each other very well and they have played with each other for a long time. “So I predict a win at home and then they have to travel to Uganda strongly and not to concede any goals to go through.”

Beaumelle whose Chipolopolo side face Uganda Cranes in an international friendly on Wednesday March 5 also said that Nkana must perform well in the competition if the Zambia local league is to improve. “We have to perform well at CAF Champions League level to improve our league and to show that in Zambia it is not only about Chipolopolo. We also have to talk about the clubs like in the past,” Beaumelle said.
