African Vollyeball Women Championships:

April 17th – 28th 2014

Ndejje University women volleyball side, the Elites have embarked on a fundraising drive in a bid to raise 150 million shillings towards facilitating the ladies team for the Africa Women Volleyball Club Championships.

The  Ndejje University Elites will represent Uganda at the Africa tourney due on April 17-28, 2014 in Tunisia. The Ndejje side will feature in the continental event on account of being the 2013 National League champions.

The budget for the team contingent includes air tickets, accommodation, uniforms and other related competition and travel requirements.

The Elites, the two-time champions having won its first title in 2012, is however no stranger to the Africa Club Championships. The national champion made its international debut last year and emerged 8th overall in the Antananarivo Africa Club edition, Madagascar

“We humbly appeal to the sports loving fraternity, the donor and business community to contribute generously to this noble cause. The team is the national flag bearer and has  prepared very well  for international duty. 

 “Your contributions will impact greatly to Uganda’s performance in the Africa Championships and also create a lasting impression to the lives of this youthful ladies side,” says the acting University Sports Tutor Paul Mark Kayongo.

 The Elites side has been boosted by the recent international exposure of three of its players, Moureen Mwamula, Saidat  Nnungi   and Christine Alupo who featured prominently in Uganda’s team campaign at the recent Nairobi Africa Nations championships, Kenya. The three Ndejje University students spurred Uganda to overall 4th position finish in the Nations Cup.

While in Tunisia, The Ndejje Elites will play under 15 degrees centigrade weather and  watched live on television screens by 10 million Tunisians in the host City of Carthage located in the suburbs of capital city of Tunis.
