It was the first time that two women’s clubs entered a tournament and they both go all the way to the final.

Maybe the absence of Ndejje Elites and Nkumba University played a part in Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC)’s success at the Jinja Open. Maybe not, because VVC is without a doubt one hell of a side when it comes to women’s volleyball this 2014 season.

VVC have won three titles in four finals just this year, but the Jinja Open title was something else. With two teams VVC had both of them reach the women’s finals, with their A side dismissing Sport-S (25-19, 25-13, 25-18) at the semi final sage.

With their B side seeing off defending champions KAVC 3-1(25-22, 17-25, 26-24, and 25-19). It was the A side that edged their B counter part 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-18) in the final. It was the first time that two women’s clubs entered a tournament and they both go all the way to the final.

The men’s final between Sport-S and Nemostars didn’t end because of poor weather when tied at one all (25-21, 24-26), Nemostars was leading the third set 13-8.

Nemostars had defeated Sky 3-2 (25-23, 23-25, 22-25, 25-19 and 15-10) in the semis while Sport-S saw off KAVC 3-2 (19-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-8) in the other semi final.
