The African middleweight kickboxing fight between Ugandan Titus Tugume and Nigerian champion, Ibo Boy, that was meant to take place in the magnificent Safaricom indoor arena this month in Nairobi flopped.
“I will not be travelling for the fight”. A soft spoken Tugume told Kawowo Sports. “The Uganda Kickboxing Federation delayed to clear me in time ahead of the fight yet the orgnizers had to run adverts before the final date”. He added.
When contacted about the issue, Hassan Ssekirime, the Uganda Kickboxing president confirmed Tugume’s failed fight as their fault. “Yes, we received Tugume’s invitation letter, but we did not clear him to fight because the letter came late and we had limited time to supervise his training, since it is an international fight”. Said Senkumbi.
It is now South Sudan’s Super Star, James Koul, to challenge the Nigerian in African Middleweight (75kg) title fight that will be broadcast live on Supersport nine East on Saturday 29th March.
