Boston S.S 2 – 1 Victoria High School

Boston secondary school is the Entebbe zone post primary football champion after overcoming Victoria High school (Germany S.S) 2 -1in a thrilling final played at Entebbe Works play ground.

“It has been a long journey from the group stages through to the finals. Hopefully, we shall train well enough as we head to the District qualifiers”, Hussein Mulawa, Boston’s head coach told Kawowo Sports at Works ground, who was lifted shoulder higher by excited fans, shortly after the final whistle.

Atleast 20 schools participated in the weeklong tourney played at St Mary’s college, Kisubi, Entebbe s.s, Katabi Gombolola and Entebbe Works play grounds.

The two finalists, Boston and Victoria High will now represent the Entebbe zone at the Wakiso District qualifiers that will be held at Kakiri town council grounds in a fortnight.

Matugga zone will be represented by Richmond and Kakungulu High schools while Kawempe division has Kinawa High and Kawanda secondary schools.

Other Wakiso district schools that have already qualified are Buddo Secondary school, St Mary’s Nabweru, Madina, the national defending champions, St Mary’s Kitende and Standard High Zana among others.

The national post primary football championship that has over the years been a breeding ground for raw football talent in Uganda will be held at Layibi College in Gulu District in May.

Almost 3 quarters of footballers in Uganda have graduated from the national post primary championships.

Players of all generations like the current FUFA CEO Edgar Watson, Ibrahim Ssekagya, Posnet Omony, Timothy Batabaire, Tony Mawejje, Dan Mubiru, Dan Walusimbi, Samson Ceaser Okhuti, Michael Mutyaba, Michael Azira, Benjamin Ochan, Robinson Kiiza, Dan Birikiwira, Dan Muwanguzi, Kenneth Babihaimaiso, Hussein Mulawa, Ronald Musana, Silver Ochaya, Eric ‘Bucha’ Ssebuguzi, Patrick Ochan, Mike Sserumaga, Ahmed Malo, Joachkim Mukungu, Yunus Ssentamu, Farouk Miya, Wasswa, Denis Makoba Bigala, Meddie Kagere,  Farouk Ssentongo, Fazil Nteza, Hussein Bukenya, among others are vivid examples of this wonderful football league.
