Title holders and two time champions Hana Mixed, will take on new comers Kololo S.S in the U19 finals of the 2014 Uganda Schools Rugby Super 8 competitions.
The duo qualified for the much anticipated meet on Sunday, when both overcame opponents and schools rugby giants Namilyango College and St.Mary’s College Kisubi.
Tries from Robert Okenyi, Allan Omoding,Juma Ochan and three conversions from James Ijongat bolstered Kololo S.S, thriving past nine time record champions Namilyango college, 33-00.
2011 and 2013 champions Hana Mixed overcame St.Mary’s College Kisubi 11-00, a two-way battle that had SMACK captain Ronald Obwoko sustain a leg fracture as he struggled to obtain the ball.
The team lost leadership, and panicked thereafter, losing crucial tie.
According to Hana Mixed Captain Robert Masendi, Kololo S.S have progressed to a tough final ahead and have to play their best against them. “It’s all going to depend on effort put in preparation and who is more ready for the challenge,” he said.
