The first round of the FIM Central Africa Motocross Challenge will get underway on Easter Sunday, 20th April at Uganda Motorsports Arena Busiika.

The event will host 3 foreign countries; Kenya, Tanzania and Ivory Coast, whose teams will compete against formidable team Uganda.

Former Kenyan 3 time Motocross champion Shivam Vinayaka is expected renew rivalry with Ugandan motocross ace Arthur Blick Junior in the MX1 class.

Asaf Natan and Maxim Van Pee who returns from studies in Holland, will be set to face Kenya’s Tutu Maina and Ivan Guya in what could be the highlight of the competition.

Fans will also be treated to the first ever female riders’ competition alongside an ‘Air Show’ during breaks in the Motocross heats, where local competitors will perform stunts on the free style ramp.

Veteran riders that include father to Maxim Van Pee, Patrick Van Pee, Ahmed Tamale and 2009 MX2 national champion Unisan Bakunda return in a 50 man team, a numbers advantage Uganda has over Kenya’s 25 man team.

The riders have been training hard and Arthur Blick Junior is confident the team will secure the championship. “We are going to take on these kenyan boys and secure the championship this time round,” he said.
