Uganda concluded it’s journey at the Africa Zone IV golf championship at the Devonvale Golf and Wine Estate Club, in Cape Town, South Africa in eighth position on Thursday.
Uganda who started their campaign on Tuesday on a false start registering two wins out of eight recovered on the final day of action in the singles claiming four wins out of eight games to end the three day tournament with nine points.
Ronald Rugumayo, Willy Deus Kitata, Robert Oluba and captain Phillip Kasozi, were all winners overcoming their opponents from Kenya, Namibia, Zambia and Lesotho to give the Uganda one of it’s best runs in the team event tournament.
Uganda finished sixth in last year’s event that was held in Malawi the tournament was won by South Africa for a second year running. The national team will now focus on the All Africa junior championship due in Zambia from April 29-May 2.
