WBC Muay Thai Belt Fight:
Umar ‘The Pain’ Semata (Uganda) Beat Abdallah Hussein (Egypt)

Ugandan Muay Thai kick boxing sensation, Umar “The Pain” Semata beat Egyptian teenager, Abdallah Hussein on points to claim the World Boxing Council Muay Thai Belt at Natete shopping park in the wee hours of Sunday night.
“I thank Allah for this victory. I thank all the fans who have supported me in every way. My sponsors are special in every way”, an ecstatic Semata remarked shortly after he was declared winner after the 5 round’s fight.
The judges ruled 49-46, 48 – 46 and 49 – 47 in favour of the Ugandan who is based in Thailand.
The fight was however halted at the start of the second round after Hussein, winner of the 1st January 2014 fight against Ronald Mugula at Freedom City complained of Semata’s elbows.
Referee, Mugoya explained to the Egyptian’s camp about the Muay Thai rules and the fight resumed.
Semata last year claimed the vacant World Boxing Council International Muay Thai belt at Kyadondo rugby club after beating Australian Rhys Karakyriacos.
The Egyptian cried after Umar was declared winner and he was shocked by the decision. “I can not believe it but that is all part of sports”, Hussein said through an interpreter.
“We hope for the first defense of the WBC belt later this year,” Alice Namatovu, of Lash Media the promoters of this fight, alongside Abitex promotions revealed to Kawowo Sports.
Parambot Breweries, brewers of Moonberg Lager sunk $20,000(sh49.8m) into the international fight others that have committed their partnership with Lash Media, Abtex Promotions include Hotel Sojovalo and GND Events.
The K-1 style format fight was sanctioned by the Uganda Kick Boxing Federation in the 69.5 kilograms weight division.
