he men’s 2014 NSSF Volleyball League season is still wide open if the points collected so far by the ten teams are anything to go by. Table leaders KAVC on Sunday won 3-2 (25-21, 17-25, 25-18, 18-25, 13-15) against KCCA to gain the summit.
KAVC had lost the bragging rights to reigning champions Nemostars who had defeated UCU Doves (25-18, 25-21, 25-12) on Saturday night. Nemostars have 11 points from four games with KAVC on 12 from five.
Third placed UCU have played five games and out of a possible 15 points that have only collected 9, thanks to their last victory, a 3-1 (25-19, 25-21, 32-34, 25-22) against Gulu. UCU is tied on nine with another university side, Ndejje Sharks, who have a chance of going on top if the defeat KAVC with maximum points on Wednesday.
Sport-S find themselves in an uncomfortable fifth with eight points from four games followed by Nkumba on six from three outings. Serie B champions KCCA have played the most number of games, (seven in total) and have only managed six points. Gulu, Old Kampala and Cobap are eighth, ninth and tenth with four, three one point (s) respectively.
