The Federation of Rwandan Football Associations (FERWAFA) is on the brink of announcing Briton Stephen Constantine as the new head coach of the Rwanda national soccer team taking over from Eric Nshiyimana whose contract expires on July 31.

The country’s FA made it clear a couple of weeks ago that Nshiyimana’s contract who replaced sacked coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic wasn’t to be renewed and called for interested coaches to apply for the Amavubi Coach.

From the applicants, Ferwafa seemed to have zeroed on Constantine with impeccable reports that he has been given a two year deal. This was confirmed on the official website of Ferwafa though they insist there are a few contractual details to sort out before he is officially unveiled.

“There are a few details we need to discuss with Constantine before he can officially be unveiled as the head coach,” read part of the statement.

It is expected that the deal will be finalized over the weekend in Tunisia where Rwanda take on Libya in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers a game interim coach Cassa Andre Mbungo will be in charge.

Mbungo who is head coach at Rwandan club AS Kigali has already been confirmed as an assistant to the new manager. Constantine, former first team coach at English club Millwall is not new to African football having been in charge of Malawi between 2007 and 2008.
